ADA acceptance is provided by the American Dental Association®. An oral health product must undergo a strict inspection process in order to become ADA accepted. The Council on Scientific Affairs must inspect the product to make sure it complies with the guidelines for participation in the ADA acceptance program. Also, the product must meet any of the applicable requirements of the ADA acceptance program. Crest Kid's Toothpaste, Sparkle Fun meets the requirement of a toothpaste that contains no sugar and offers anticavity protection in order to attain its ADA accepted seal of approval. To meet the requirement, this children's toothpaste had to undergo clinical and laboratory studies that were necessary to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the product.
