Its narrow rim saves space for product, and the tan material blends into different settings. Because the plate is made of melamine, it resists staining and chipping. Reinforced at stress points, the dish is durable and won't bend, while its temperature-insulated design prevents the material from drawing heat or cold from the plated food.
